Zespri has announced its supply chain general manager Sally Gardiner will leave the company at the end of 2014 after more than 10 years service, including the last six in her current role.
Gardiner is the second senior executive to announce their departure from New Zealand’s single-desk kiwifruit marketer within the last four weeks, following the resignation of chief financial officer Merv Dallas in early April.
Zespri chief executive Lain Jager thanked Gardiner for her contribution to the kiwifruit industry, insisting she will leave with the full support of the company as she seeks “new professional opportunities.”
“Sally’s experienced leadership and steady hand have been invaluable to Zespri and the wider industry during her six seasons as the head of supply chain, in what is a very demanding and critical industry leadership role,” Jager said. “Including her previous roles within Zespri, Sally has worked for the company for 13 years and has been involved in the wider kiwifruit industry for 16 years in total, and is highly respected across the industry.”
