Cambridgeshire-based agricultural machinery importer and distributor AgVantage has been appointed to the Bauer dealer network to offer the company’s range of irrigation equipment.

The partnership will see the company supply Bauer’s range of crop irrigation equipment including its Rainstar reel irrigators, pivot irrigation systems, pumps, pipework, couplings and digital irrigation management technology.

AgVantage, which is based at Coates near Peterborough, supplies a range of specialist farming equipment covering the entire lifecycle of crop prodcution, including cultivars, harvesters, handling units and storage and transport systems.

The company said the appointment represents a natural extension to its growing portfolio of specialist machinery, and is hoped to strengthen the company’s ability to support customers throughout the growing season.

Andy Carse, managing director of AgVantage, said the company was delighted to be joining the network: “Irrigation is an incredibly important part of growing potatoes and other high-value crops, so Bauer fits extremely well alongside the machinery and services we already provide.”

“Bauer is a brand with an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and longevity. Many of our existing customers already operate Bauer equipment, so being able to support them with new machines, parts and service is a very natural progression for AgVantage,” he added.

Bauer has been developing irrigation equipment for over 50 years, with manufacturing centred at its facility in Voitsberg, Austria.

The company builds range of core irrigation products as well as waste and slurry management systems.

Bauer said the strong overlap between AgVantage’s existing customer base, particularly within the potato and vegetable sectors, was an “excellent fit”, and provided a strong basis for the partnership.

Adrian Tindall, Bauer UK & Ireland sales manager, said: “We are very pleased to welcome AgVantage to the Bauer dealer network. The company has a strong presence within the specialist crop sector and, importantly, understands the level of sales, parts and service support that professional growers require.

“Andy and the AgVantage team have ambitious plans for the business and we look forward to working closely with them to develop Bauer irrigation equipment sales and provide first-class support to customers,” he added.
