As with any other industry, the UK fresh produce sector would fail to exist without the road network which facilitates the distribution of so many goods from field to fork. And few would be foolish enough to dispute the need for continuous and unobstructed access to fresh produce. Yet, many in the transport industry believe the country’s leaders have been hugely remiss in recognising the procedures necessary to bring its infrastructure to a level which would allow it to better serve this, and all other such necessary industries.
