Hishtil Nurseries, the largest producer of vegetables, herbs and ornamental young plants in Israel, has opened its first plant nursery in South Africa. It will provide seedlings to growers in South Africa and (in future) to growers in neighboring countries.

Hishtil-South Africa is located in the nation's northernmost province, Limpopo, at the center of the vegetable producing regions.

In its initial phase, the nursery operates 1.5 hectare of greenhouses. In the near future, it will expand its current site to 8 hectares.

With a total investment of £4 million, the annual production, in several growing cycles, is estimated to reach 200 million seedlings. According to its business plans, Hishtil-South Africa will also establish more nurseries in the country, in various regions.
