Bank Holiday promotion first of four consecutive weekend offers supporting customers during Back to School season
Sainsbury’s has launched half-price Nectar prices on selected fruit and vegetables over this Bank Holiday weekend.
Running from Friday 28 August to Monday 31 August, items in the deal include sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms, potatoes and mangoes. The discount will be available in selected supermarkets and online.
The promotion is the first of four consecutive weekend Nectar Prices events running through late August and September, aimed at helping customers save as the new school term begins.
The deals are hoped to make fresh fruit and vegetables a more affordable choice for lunchboxes, after-school snacks or midweek family meals, the retailer said.
Richard Crampton, commercial director of Fresh and Convenience at Sainsbury’s, said: “We know customers are looking for great value without compromising on the quality of the food they bring home.
“That’s why we’re offering half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables, making it easier to put fresh, nutritious food on the table over the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond,” he added.
In July, Sainsbury’s established 10-year supply deals in peppers, tomaotes and cucumbers in a bid to increase the volume of its British-grown produce.
