Clive taught himself how to take photographs in the 1960s when he worked in the fashion business. He began photographing London’s fresh fruit and vegetable market at Covent Garden in 1968. And almost 60 years later he is still taking photos of the market, now located at New Covent Garden in south London.

Clive has published three books of his market photographs. He has also photographed London’s world-famous Royal Ballet & Opera as well as the gardens of England. Clive has worked for some leading British newspapers and magazines. He was awarded the British Empire Medal by Queen Elizabeth II in 2018 and was presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award by the World Food Photography Awards in 2025.
