Israel’s Ashdod port handled 84,611 TEU from China in 2008, according to figures released by Ashdod Port Company, making it the largest source of incoming containers. 2,688 TEU were exported from Ashdod to China.

Turkey came in second with 51,075 TEU imported and a further 11,169 TEU exported.
The third largest trading partner was Italy with 46,903 TEU and 16,885 TEU exported, while Belgium was fourth with 44,724 TEU incoming containers and 17,092 TEU exported containers.

The fifth largest partner was Vietnam with 25,982 TEU imported, followed by Germany (20,270 TEU), Spain (16,732 TEU) and the US (16,610 TEU).
