The Potato Storage Event at the council's Sutton Bridge Experimental Unit (SBEU), growers and potato handlers can learn about the latest in storage technology and obtain practical and independent advice. The event is free to all BPC levy payers.

'The emphasis is on practical information to help the industry improve crop values from the 3.5million tonnes of stored potatoes in UK stores each year,' said Adrian Cunnington, SBEU operations manager. 'Lively and informative discussions will look at many aspects of storage and will be a great way of updating yourself with information quickly and efficiently.' There will be hands-on demonstrations, store hygiene, CIPC application, quality and damage assessment, store operation control, disease recognition and processing quality measurements.
