Capital Radio DJs Chris Tarrant and Dr Fox, and impressionist Jon Culshaw are fronting a major new promotional push for Capespan, which begins this week.

The radio-based campaign is targeted at housewife listeners, featuring slots on national and local radio stations five days a week.

Caroline Wall, Capespan's marketing and publicity manager, said: 'We are using 45 national spots a week including a unique midday lunch break, breakfast and drivetime slots in each of three national bursts supporting our Granny Smith, Golden Delicious and Outspan produce.

'Our retailers will be specifically supported in a range of regional radio stations plus posters. In addition we are mounting an extensive PR and promotional programme on a national and regional basis throughout the summer.' During the campaign, Capespan will broadcast 1,400 of the spots to 4.7 million housewives.

Capespan will also be running nationwide apple samplings at events in stations, as part of the nationwide campaign (See story, FPJ May 3).
