Zespri breaks export record

The New Zealand kiwifruit crop is heading for a record but lengthy season with exports reported to have passed the 200,000 pallet mark last weekend. The campaign is therefore running ahead of last year’s record exports by 13,000 pallets so far with a further 2.6 million trays expected to be shipped on four vessels over the coming eight weeks. The long season is unlikely to please European producers who will be starting their harvest shortly.
