Total Produce has acquired 92 per cent of health foods distributor Wholefoods Wholesale.
The Dublin-based company racked up €18 million (£12.1m) in sales last year.
In a statement to the Irish Stock Exchange, Total Produce said it welcomes the opportunity to become involved in the health food sector.
Total Produce said it expects the acquisition to be earnings enhancing from the date of completion.
