Langmead Farms has launched the new wholehead lettuce, Dolce Verde, onto the UK marketplace.
This crisp lettuce was first developed in the US and is characterised by the firm yet succulent ribs that burst with sweetness on bite and the excellent leaf shape.
Langmead Farms hopes to introduce Dolce Verde, which means Sweet Green, into UK retailers’ ranges as a step up from conventional wholehead lettuces, such as iceberg and romaine.
This lettuce has been used for making wraps as its texture is so firm it can be used for holding hot food.
