Sorrento lemons head to Asda

Asda says it is the first UK retailer to sell lemons from Sorrento in Italy.

The fruit, which is grown on the coast of Italy's south west, is a big hit among Italian consumers.

'The lemons are popular among chefs thanks to their strong flavour and high content of lemon oil which gives them a real aromatic lemon fragrance and excellent flavour,' said an Asda spokesperson.

Limones Di Sorrento, which have protected geographical indicator status, will go on sale in Asda stores from September, priced at £2 for four.
