Sainsbury's promotes summer favourites

The annual summer exodus might have begun, leaving offices around the country quiet as employees head off on holiday, but supermarkets still have tempting offers aplenty for those that remain.

Sainsbury’s is selling a range of ‘Sunshine’ fruit and veg for £1, among them 200g of Florette Crispy Salad (half price), a Cantaloupe melon (50p off), a Galia melon (75p off), Taste the Difference mango (half price), a two-pack of sweetcorn (70p off) and a 340g twin pack of Romaine lettuce hearts (25p off).

Morrisons is running a ‘Pick of Market St’ 99p, or three-for-two, offer on a range of fruit and veg. Among those product featured are a punnet of nectarines, 300g of apricots, seven oranges and a minimum of seven vine-ripened tomatoes.

Tesco is bigging up its Season’s Best lines, with offers available on a wide range of products. These include sweetcorn, where corn on the cob is 70p off, mini corn on the cob is 20p off and a family pack of super sweet sweetcorn is 50p off.

At Aldi, this week’s Super 6 are peaches, large vine tomatoes, snack pack grapes, green beans, plums and baking potatoes.

Asda’s homepage focuses on its ‘price lock’ on a range of everyday staples, with 12 fruit and veg lines prominently featured.

This week’s price basket of 10 leading products shows few significant movements. M&S has taken 30p off 380g of strawberries, while blueberries are 20p cheaper at Aldi.
