Ian Wall was a farm manager for AC Goatham

AC Goatham & Son’s farm manager has died after a tragic accident.

It is believed that Ian Wall was killed by a falling tree in non-work-related circumstances.

The incident occured yesterday afternoon (18 January), and the 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene near Painter's Forstal Road, Faversham, Kent.

In a statement released this morning (19 January), the top-fruit firm's owners Clive and Ross Goatham, said: 'The family and team at AC Goatham & Son are very saddened to hear of the death of our much-loved colleague and friend Ian Wall, who died in tragic circumstances over the weekend.

'Ian had worked with us for the past two years, and was our farm manager. Ian was very much part of the AC Goatham & Son family, and will be deeply missed by all the team here. Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends.'

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident, Police said.
