Bramleys (general)-1

It’s crossed fingers time in Northern Ireland for the region’s Bramley apple growers after an unseasonable recent strike of frost.

Dermot Morgan, secretary of the Northern Ireland Fruit Growers Association, said it’ll be a couple of weeks before the full extent of the damage is known.

He added: “It has caused concern. Any time a frost occurs, a crop will be reduced, so we have to wait and see. It’s always a shock when a frost occurs, especially after a warm Easter.”
