Northern Irish produce firm Unimush is aiming to expand sales in Britain and Ireland following its listing as one of UK’s ‘Most Inspiring Companies’ by the London Stock Exchange (LSE) Group.

The prepack and value-added mushroom and vegetable product specialist, which also gained a UK Quality and Food Drink Award (QFDA) for one of its stuffed mushroom products last year, gained the coveted LSE Group recognition for being among the fastest-growing SME businesses in the UK.

To be selected on the list, businesses had to demonstrate not only positive growth in revenue over the last four years, but also significantly outperform their sector peers.

Based in Armagh, Unimush already supplies Asda, Morrisons and Lidl, as well as wholesale and foodservice markets.

Kevin McManus, Unimush Ireland’s commercial manager, said: “This is a marvellous endorsement for Unimush by one of the UK’s most influential business groups.

“Our business model was founded on four core principles, placing product quality, innovation, value and service as key elements to success. This hasn’t changed and we attribute our achievements to living by these principles.

'Our ongoing commitment to quality runs deep within our ethos, which along with product innovation, ensures we progress in a manner that is right for consumer, client and business alike.'

Unimush Ireland is a mushroom and vegetable marketing business with state-of-the-art processing and packing facilities in Armagh City, employing over 90 staff.
