Former Jacana Produce sales director Ed Cunynghame is relocating to Kenya to take on a position with vegetable grower and supplier AAA Growers.

Based in Nairobi, Cunynghame will have responsibility for diversifying the company’s customer base.

He joined Jacana in 2005 before selling his shares in 2015 and moving to e-commerce food waste site Take Stock. During his 10 years at the Warwickshire-based company, he managed imports and distribution of produce to the wholesale and foodservice sectors.

"AAA supplies many of the biggest British supermarkets and are very well-established already," said Cunynghame. "But they are constantly looking at ways to increase their product range and develop their business."

AAA Growers has five farming sites across the Central Province of Kenya, growing over 2,000 acres of chillies, Tenderstem broccoli, runner beans, fine beans, Mange Tout and sugar snaps. In addition to vegetables, the company exports herbs, raspberries and cut flowers (roses), and supplies some prepared produce lines.
