Asparagus consultant Claire Donkin has joined soft-fruit and asparagus breeder Global Plant Genetics as technical associate.
Donkin, who joins the team on a consultancy basis, will focus on growing the company’s overseas asparagus customer base.
Director Jamie Petchell said: “Asparagus crops are a long-term investment for growers and it is essential that they make the best technical decisions to promote longevity and profitability. With the addition ofClaire to our team, we will be able to improve our technical back up service to our broad range of asparagus clients in a number of different climates.”
Donkin said: “I have past experience of consulting on overseasasparagus crops and I am looking forward to developing this further by joining up with Global Plant Genetics. This new position will combine well with my other continuingroles in the horticulture industry and allow me to transfer myknowledge to growers in an effective way.”
