The UK’s two biggest fresh produce brands Pink Lady and Tenderstem have both picked up a prize in the Healthy Food Guide’s Best of Health Awards.
Tenderstem won in the Speedy Suppers category, while Pink Lady was rewarded for the second year running, this time coming out on top in the Sweet Treats and Puds category.
Now in its sixth year, the Best of Health Awards selects winning products from across the food and drink sector based on their nutritional credentials, flavour and texture.
Tenderstem prevailed in the Speedy Suppers category as it can be cooked quickly, can be enjoyed in multiple ways due to its versatility, and can be eaten from stem to floret, meaning there’s minimal wastage.
Meanwhile, Pink Lady won in the Sweet Treats and Puds category due to the apples’ consistent quality, natural sweetness and crunch, according to judges.
Michelle Evans, chief marketing officer at Coregeo, said: “It’s fantastic to see that the judges identified Tenderstem’s versatility as a huge bonus for consumers. We agree – the versatility of our delicious and healthy brassica means it can be added to lots of different types of cuisines very easily.
“Pink Lady’s continued success at the awards bears witness to its role as an ideal natural snack-sized sweet treat, offering consumers an easily portable and delicious way to get one of their five-a-day.”
