The International New-Varieties Network (INN) announced at its recent members’ meeting in Syracuse, New York, the retirment of general manager Garry Langford.

INN members appointed Langford as the organisation’s first general manager in August 2018. He managed INN’s business operations, engaged directly in the development of new fruit varieties, and identified opportunities for members.

INN now has several variety agreements in place, with these projects progressing towards commercialisation.

INN president Jim Adams thanked Langford for his commitment, support, and guidance of the company since 2018.

“During a period of significant challenge and change in the global fruit industry, Garry has provided calm and considered leadership,” he said.

Rowan Little has been appointed as the new general manager. Based in Australia, Little brings extensive experience in the local and international development and commercialisation of new apple, pear, and stonefruit varieties. He joins INN following a 30-year career with Montague Farms.

Langford has been appointed to the INN board for a transitional period to assist with the handover as Little settles into the general manager role.
