Meet the industry experts who will share key strategies for success in the Asian market at the inaugural event in Lima
Walmart’s Mark Adamy and Fernando Bustamate; Sharath Loganathan of India’s Ninja Cart; Eric Zheng, of Goodfarmer and Pablo Ramirez of Sun World International are among the top-level speakers that will take the stage at next month’s inaugural Asia Fruit Logistica Peru Meet Up, which takes place on 28-29 October at the Swissotel in Lima.
Following the success of the Asia Fruit Logistica trade fair and China Meet Up, the event will bring together fresh produce professionals from across the Latin America region and beyond for two days of knowledge sharing and networking centred on improving connections between South America and the rest of the world, with a particular focus on the fast-growing Asian market.
The event combines a high-quality content programme, curated by Fruitnet and the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), with ample opportunities to network and build business connections in a relaxed setting. These include round tables where local producers can meet with buyers from Asia and beyond, a business networking luncheon, two networking breaks and an evening cocktail reception.
Leaders of the major Latin American associations share their views
The first day of the programme shines a spotlight on the global trading and market outlook. Iván Marambio of Frutas de Chile, Gabriel Amaro of Agap, Eduardo Brandão of Abrafrutas are among the industry experts sharing their insights into how Latin American suppliers can navigate the current trade turbulence and make the most of new opportunities it throws up.
Spotlight on new trends in Asia and beyond
In a session on dynamic Asian market, Fruitnet’s Yuxin Yang looks at how suppliers can make the most of growing consumer demand for premium fruit with key players from the region including Ninja Cart’s Sharath Loganathan, while José Antonio Castro, CEO of Agrokasa joins other top companies presenting their vision of how Latin American suppliers can better align their offer with the requirements of more mature markets like Europe and the US.
Improving Latin American access to global markets
Day two of the conference turns the focus onto supply chain logistics. It kicks off with a presentation on the new megaport of Chancay, after which an expert panel that includes Rafel de Solar of MSC Peru and Goodfarmer’s Eric Zheng discuss how this and other key infrastructure projects are improving Latin American access to global markets. Totem’s Drew Zabrocki also presents the latest developments from the IFPA’s Supply Chain of the Future initiative.
