Jiangnan Agricultural Wholesale Market in Xinjiang has opened international offices to facilitate trade

A new cross-border logistics network has supercharged the fresh trade between China’s Xinjiang region and Central Asia.
According to a report from China Global Television Network, upgrades supported by China’s Belt and Road Initiative have cut transportation times and streamlined the supply chain.
Refrigerated trucks now deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to markets in Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian countries within 30 hours.
To further facilitate cross-border trade, Jiangnan Agricultural Wholesale Market in Kashi, Xinjiang has opened overseas offices in Tashkent and Dushanbe, with plans for a warehouse in Uzbekistan.
Through the first 11 months of 2025, the Jiangnan Agricultural Wholesale Market exported more than 1,700 truckloads of fresh produce, totalling about 31,000 tonnes across Central Asia.
“Next, we’ll further enhance quality control to build our brand, expand trade scale, and ensure more Central Asian residents enjoy fresh Chinese produce,” said Zhang Dewei, Jiangnan Agricultural Wholesale Market procurement manager.
