Volumes have risen more than 100 per cent in past six months according to country’s agriculture and food security minister
Malaysia’s agriculture and food security minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, has said the country’s pineapple exports have risen more than 100 per cent in the past six months, according to a report from Malaysian news site The Star.

Exports had grown from 800 to 1,727 containers as of October 2024, the minister said in a statement on Facebook on 2 November.
“This achievement proves that the agricultural sector, particularly the pineapple industry, has great potential to generate substantial income for our farmers,” he said.
Mohamad added that he was confident pineapple exports would continue to grow in 2025, driven by the continued commitment of farmers, agencies and industry players.
According to The Star, he also urged more Malaysians, especially young entrepreneurs, to pursue modern farming which he said could further strengthen the country’s food security while boosting incomes.
