Natavo avocado non browning

Australia-based Naturo All Natural Technologies has officially launched its full range of Natavo Natural Avocado product to the international market at Hofex tradeshow in Hong Kong today.

The Natavo is now available to the food service industry, offering a natural avocado product with no difference in taste that will stave off browning on its flesh for up to ten days when refrigerated.

“The global avocado trade is valued at A$18bn (US$12.6bn) or approximately 5.5m tonnes, however, due to the seasonality, fragility and quick-browning nature of the fruit it has been a challenging ingredient for the food service industry to use. To date, there’s been a lot of guess work, high wastage and expense,” said Naturo director, Ross Harris.

“Our technology has changed all that as we switch off the enzyme which causes avocado to go brown, while still preserving its texture and taste.”

Natavo Natural Avocado uses Naturo’s Natavo Zero avocado processing technology on fresh sliced, diced and smashed avocado products. The product can also be frozen for up to two years when unopened.

“It’s now possible for the food service industry to access large quantities of perfectly ripe, ready-to-use, 100 per cent pure, natural avocado, with no additives or preservatives, all year round,” Harris said.

Natavo is already being sold in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines and France.
