Neptune Orient Lines subsidiary APL and South Korea’s Hanjin Shipping have kicked off a new joint Japan-Thailand weekly service.
The two lines will operate the new service under a vessel sharing agreement, with each company contributing three 1,700 TEU vessels.
The Japan Thailand 2 (JT2) service is aimed at complementing the current Japan Thailand Vietnam (JTV) service for trade from South East Asia to North Asia, reported Port Technology International.
The JT2 service will follow a route of Osaka, Kobe, Hibiki, Hakata, Kaohsiung, Chiwan, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and Osaka.
The first sailing for the service will depart from Laem Chabang on 21 December.
