Chairman of Longtable group, Reg Weine, has joined APAL’s board of directors as a non-executive director.
With over 25 years’ experience in agri-food and fast-moving consumables, APAL said Weine would add considerable corporate and brand experience to the strong growing representation on the APAL board.
As chairman of Longtable Group, Weine oversees the company that owns the Maggie Beer, Paris Creek Farm and St David Dairy brands.
Weine’s previous roles include as the managing director of SPC, and chief executive of Bulla Dairy Foods, Australia’s largest privately-owned dairy business.
Weine holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and is a certified practicing marketer with the Australian Marketing Institute.
He is also on the board of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and is chair of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
The APAL board is made up of six directors representing each of Australian apple-growing states; Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania and New South Wales, plus a director for pears, an independent chair and a non-executive director.
In other movements, Lindy Nieuwenhuizen recently joined APAL as head of communications, overseeing APAL’s media and communications operations.
