Fresh produce breeding specialist Rijk Zwaan will embrace the theme of ‘where care turns clients into partners’ at Asia Fruit Logistica, which takes place in Hong Kong on 2-4 September.

The Netherlands-based group is looking to demonstrate how close collaboration, local expertise and innovation help businesses build resilient, market-driven supply chains and create value throughout the fresh produce chain.

“We see every day how important continuity is for our partners,” says Natalie Nguyen, client specialist Asia at Rijk Zwaan.

“By combining innovative genetics with a strong global supply network, we help them build more resilient supply chains.

”This enables them to diversify sourcing, reduce risks and respond confidently to changing market conditions,” she outlined.

In Hong Kong, visitors can discover solutions that help create more predictable production and supply, Rijk Zwaan explained.

The group offers varieties with strong resistance in crops such as pepper, lettuce and cucumber, helping deliver ”reliable yields, consistent quality and greater predictability”.

“When we speak to growers, traders, retailers and foodservice partners, one topic comes back time and again: predictability,” Nguyen continued.

”They want to know they can count on consistent quality and availability.

”By developing varieties that perform reliably from production to shelf, we help them reduce uncertainty and build stronger businesses,” she commented.

Rijk Zwaan will showcase its wide variety of consumer-driven concepts such as sweet pointed pepper Sweet Palermo, snack-size pepper Tatayoyo, snack cucumbers MyCubies and snack solutions that connect directly with consumer preferences.

The company’s long term commitment to the Asian market was recognised last year with the Asia Fruit Impact Award 2025.

The award highlighted the company’s investments in developing locally adapted varieties and supporting growers and partners across Asia.

“Strong partnerships create the best opportunities for growth,” added Nguyen.

”By working closely with our partners, we help them tackle everyday challenges, respond to market developments and create lasting value throughout the fresh produce chain.”
