New Zealand’s largest apple exporter secures major profit increase on back of overall 54 per cent increase in annual sales

New Zealand agribusiness Scales Corporation, the country’s largest apple exporter, says it saw its overall profit rise 50 per cent to NZ$137.6mn in 2025.
As reported in its full-year results, that increase in earnings was on the back of a 54 per cent increase in its annual sales, to NZ$584.6mn.
Underlying net profit after tax came in at NZ$77.6mn, up 45 per cent on the 2024 figure, while the group’s reported net profit after tax was 137 per cent higher at NZ$117.7mn.
Scales said its horticulture division, which includes fresh fruit exporters Mr Apple and Fern Ridge Produce, as well as a share in processing joint venture Profruit, produced “an outstanding result through increased volumes, prices and improved variety mix”.
