Fruit grower and juice producer Chegworth Valley has opened its first ever farm shop on Kensington Church Street in London’s Notting Hill.

The farming business, which began to produce fruit juice eight years ago, now sells 15 types of juice from various farmers’ markets around the UK and through its website, as well as selling fruit through its wholesale division on Borough wholesale market in London.

Chegworth Valley opened its first ever shop this September and believes that it has a very bright future, despite the doom and gloom the credit crunch has brought.

The company’s Paul Spencer told FPJ at Chegworth Valley’s stand at The Restaurant Show 2008: “We are very positive about our position. We have spent eight years on farmers’ markets selling fruit, strawberry bushes and juices, and there is a real demand for them. We have also had a regular space on the farmers’ market in Notting Hill, so we know the new shop’s area well. We believe it is the first urban farm shop in London and if this one is a success, who knows where it will lead.”

As well as selling fruit and fruit juices, the store also stocks diary and bakery items sourced from small local producers.
