Anglia Business Solutions development director Richard Jones has been awarded IT Developer of the Year at the British Computer Society (BCS) IT Professional Awards this month.

Jones won the award for his work in developing Anglia’s suite of Microsoft .NET tools for deploying business mobility applications.

He said: “In recent years, I have worked with Windows Mobile using the .Net Compact Framework and SQL Compact building tools to streamline the process of building Line Of Business Applications. My team and I have worked on ways to efficiently deploy reliable partially connected applications and came up with a tool called DataMaker. DataMaker automates the production of the data layer, you simply point the tool at a SQL table and it does the rest, churning out reliable Compact Framework code.

Managing director David Hurley said: “Anglia’s .NET based business applications have been a key factor in many of the national awards for customer solutions won by Anglia in recent years. The degree of innovation shown by Richard in their design and development has been impressive. The systems deployed have generated many hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of business value for our customers. This prestigious national award is a fitting tribute to his skills and dedication.”
