Israeli firm Agriver has penetrated new markets in the last year, according to the company’s Omer Kamp.

The Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, Turkey, Belgium, Romania and Slovakia all received product from the company in the last 12 months, although volumes to the UK market have decreased as a result of the sterling:shekel exchange rate.

Agriver’s main products include fresh herbs, figs, capsicum, pomegranate, passionfruit, coconut, pomelo, carrots and strawberries.

Expanding lines for the firm include salicornia, which has been planted by new growers and can be supplied year round. “The product is going well all over Europe and the UK market is growing,” said Kamp.

Agriver’s carrot production is also growing every year, according to the firm’s Amos Betzer. “We started in December but the main season runs from April to June,” he told freshinfo. “The product is of good quality this year and there are more quantities available.

“On the capsicum front, last year was not good, but production this year is more steady. However, we are growing our market for herbs in the UK.”
