Crop protection specialist and consultancy firm Agrovista UK will be opening a new depot near Maidstone in Kent this month. The depot will replace the existing store shared with William Lillico on the Aylesford business site.

The new site has three times as much stock capacity that the existing facilities. It will be networked into the company’s live operating system to allow real time stock and sales information to be passed between all the company’s depots.

Growth and expansion of the business in the south east and the firm’s recent move into both top and soft fruit agronomy were cited by Agrovista as being behind the need to increase storage and warehousing capacity.

“Over the last few years, our business has steadily increased in the south east and this new store allows us to take that business further,” said Charles Coslett, regional director for the south. “By investing in this area in logistics, we are able to set a firm foundation for future growth and to actually serve our customers better in the south east.”

The new store will be officially opened on Monday July 23 by local farmer Jonathan Tipples, after which it will be open for visitors, farmers and customers to view from 10am to 2pm.
