John Lloyd has been appointed as the new chief executive of Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL) as it moves into a new era.
Lloyd, a former fertiliser and machinery chief, will take up the role on November 2, succeeding acting chief executive Vanessa Goss.
Lloyd was the ceo of Case New Holland Australia and New Zealand and general manager of commercial operations at Incitec Pivot before working in management consultancy.
HAL is an industry-owned company, not-for-profit company and invests $90 million (£49.4m)) annually in research and marketing.
Lloyd will look to guide HAL through its strategic planning process as it look to develop a new five-year plan.
HAL chair Dr Nigel Steele Scott told Stock & Land: "John has extensive experience in agriculture with practical farmers as well as experience in business management in agriculture and marketing. We are delighted with his appointment."
