Max MacGillivray and Bake Off finalist Ian Cumming

Healthy eating initiative The Great Fruit and Veg Adventure was joined by Great British Bake Off 2015 finalist Ian Cumming at a recent visit to a Cambridge primary school.

Cumming, who is also a parent at Great Wilbraham Primary School, made an African-style cake with a fruity twist for the children, while Great Fruit Adventure founder Max MacGillivray told children about his trip across Africa.

Since returning to the UK, MacGillivray has been touring the UK’s primary schools to engage children with the excitement and provenance of fresh produce, with the overall aim of increasing consumption.

With a strong following online, The Great Fruit Adventure now has over 100,000 likes on Facebook, MacGillivray also has plans for a theatre tour and a produce-based childrens’ book series.
