Prepared food specialist Bakkavor has partnered with the University of Lincoln to launch two Master's degrees/apprenticeships for the food and drink industry.

The company will offer an MSc in both ‘Strategic Leadership in the Food and Drink Industry - Technical Management’ and ‘Strategic Leadership in the Food and Drink Industry - Operations and Supply Chain Management’.

The degree programmes are part of the Level Seven Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship scheme and offer a combination of senior level management practice and food science and manufacturing experience.

At each stage of the two courses, students will draw upon their own work experience to support their learning, as well as applying what they’ve learnt in class to the work environment through work-based assignments and projects.

Each programme lasts around two and a half years and is delivered through a mix of university attendance and an online delivery platform.

Donna-Maria Lee, HR director at Bakkavor, said:“We are delighted to be rolling out this new programme which provides students with a mix of technical skills, real world know-how and first-hand experience of the food and drink sector.

“The University of Lincoln has been a supportive partner, and the apprenticeship levy allows us to enrich the programme further. Ultimately, we believe this provides a fantastic platform from which to build a successful career in this industry.”

There will be two intakes for the programme each year, in January and September. Entry requirements are English and Maths at Level 2 and an undergraduate degree, recognised professional qualification or relevant industry experience.
