Sussex vegetable grower beats off stiff competition at Food Manufacture Excellence Awards

Barfoots has been named Sustainable Food Manufacturer of The Year at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards on 5 February.
The event, organised by trade magazine Food Manufacture, celebrates the best in British food and drink. The highly competitive Sustainable Food Manufacturer of The Year category was judged across a breadth of criteria including footprint reduction, food and packaging waste reduction, sourcing, innovation, culture and leadership.
Keston Williams, chief operating officer at Barfoots, said: “The award represents years of dedication and investment across all aspects of the business from field to fork. We are incredibly grateful to our team and partners for helping turn our sustainability vision into a reality.”
Bethan Grylls, editor of Food Manufacture, added: “The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards is no stranger to brilliance; every year we see a high number of incredible companies, individuals and partnerships throw their hat into the ring.
“I want to congratulate all those who made it to the final of one of the most respected award ceremonies in the F&B sector. The competition was fierce and it was very difficult to whittle it down to just a few winners.
“Our 14 victors have been recognised as champions of excellence, going above and beyond, by our panel of industry experts – they should all be very proud of this accomplishment.”
