Cross is back for her third ad stint

Albert Bartlett is to launch the third round of its TV campaign for Rooster potatoes featuring Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross next month.

The third advert will be a fusion of the first two, following the actress’s first appearance in 2009 when she was being persuaded by her agent to back Rooster, and a second instalment in 2010 with her being duped into what she thinks is a hair commercial.

The campaign will kick off on 17 October and run for nine weeks across the UK and Northern Ireland, featuring three adverts - one 30-second and two 10-second edits.

The move coincides with the launch of new branded packs featuring QR codes and comes ahead of the first Albert Bartlett recipe app in November, which will feature contributions from Albert Bartlett ambassador chefs Andrew Fairlie, Michel Roux Jr and Sally Bee.

Albert Bartlett marketing manager John Hicks said: “Marcia has proved a great partner for the brand. Previous campaigns have propelled the brand forward, driving household penetration to 29 per cent and truly engaging with younger consumers and our core shoppers.”

The brand’s expansion will be boosted by title sponsorship of the Dutch version of MasterChef and Junior MasterChef until the end of the year.
