BerryWorld’s marketing and communicatins director, Charlotte Knowles, won Marketing and Brand Leader at the inaugural Women in Food and Drinks Awards at a glitzy ceremony in London last week.

Presented by food personality Andi Oliver, the awards recognised leading women from across the sector, in categories ranging from product, sustainability, leadership and operations.

Knowles, who has led BerryWorld’s marketing during a period of growth and a redefined brand in the last few years, wrote on LinkedIn that: ”It was a privilege to be nominated - a surprise to be shortlisted and an even bigger shock to actually win.

”Thank you to the judges for recognising our brand, our business and our people,” she added.

The awards received 1,800 nominations and 600 entries, with 38 winners on the night.

The event bio states that: “There is still much progress to be made in addressing challenges like the gender pay gap, career progression, and increasing the representation of women in leadership roles.

“Women who have broken through these barriers serve as role models for future generations, yet we acknowledge that there are still too few in top positions.”
