The Bramley apple campaign won the Best Themed Trade Stand award at the National Fruit Show on Wednesday in a bumper end to the variety’s bicentenary year.

The team distributed hot home-made Bramley apple pie and its A Fresh Look At Cooking With Bramley Apples recipe booklet throughout the two-day event at the Kent Showground.

Adrian Barlow, chairman of the Bramley Campaign, said: “From September 2008 to August 2009, the Bramley Campaign saw 347 articles in print and reached an audience of 108 million. We have 2,465 subscribers to our Bramley e-newsletter and have also introduced www.bramleykids.com, with recipes from TV chef Phil Vickery.”
