Potato supplier’s general manager for prepared has been promoted with additional remit across added value to drive business growth and deliver upcoming capital investment programme

Potato supplier Branston has promoted general manager for prepared Tom Seagrief to an expanded role across added value, retail and B2B.
He will oversee end-to-end production from sourcing to finished goods, while managing raw materials, energy and labour, driving continuous improvement and maximising profitability.
A core focus will be delivering an upcoming capital investment programme, a key part of the business’ growth strategy.
He said: “I’m looking forward to taking on this new challenge within the business. I’ve been fortunate enough to work across a variety of teams within Branston, and it feels like the right time to step into this role and help drive strategic growth.”
Branston’s mashed potato facility opened in 2024, following rising consumer demand, and now supplies a range of UK retailers.
The factory’s two lines produce 14 products, including ready-to-eat mash, artisan root veg recipes and topped jacket potatoes.
“Expanding Tom’s role to cover the mash facility operation is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining our high standards while also driving business growth,” said Branston COO, Jason Kelly.
“His extensive knowledge and experience with not only high-care food factory environments, but also of Branston as a whole, is invaluable. I’m looking forward to seeing how he shapes this next chapter.”
“The mash facility has been a huge area of growth for the business, allowing us to improve the product for customers while also supporting a more sustainable supply chain,” added Seagrief.
Seagrief joined Branston via the company’s graduate programme over a decade ago. After placements in the technical and finance departments, he moved into operations before being promoted to several managerial roles.
