BRC Global Standards has announced a new award programme for technical and quality staff who want to be recognised as experts in their field.
The scheme will be open to all employees involved in managing the implementation of the BRC Global Standard, which standardises the quality and safety of fresh produce.
Under the new award scheme, food quality and safety personnel can become recognised as experts on the requirements relevant to their site's scope of certification. And the course has been designed to enable participants to tailor their own learning needs.
The first phase will be launched in October 2016, aimed at manufacturers who adopt the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
Mark Proctor, CEO at BRC Global Standards, said:'The BRC Global Standards Professional Programme has been designed to help individuals and manufacturers improve consistency of their safety management systems, increase their knowledge and to provide recognised competence for technical and quality personnel.'
Staff can register on BRC's online learning platform BRC Educate, before choosing the courses they need to complete the programme.
Courses will be advertised on the BRC Global Standards website, and will be run by both the BRC Academy and BRC approved training partners.
