Changes made at Agrexco UK

Agrexco has appointed a new boss for its UK operations as the Israeli ministry of justice examines the company’s failure.

The ministry has launched an investigation into the exporters’ executives and reasons for its collapse.

Israeli financial publication Globes claims the investigation was ordered by the Tel Aviv district court to study the possibility that senior Agrexco officeholders were involved in, and responsible for, the loss of value of the firm and subsequent damage to its creditors.

More than 500 employees have been made redundant by the firm.

Under new owners Bickel and Orian, the business is “starting from scratch with new growers” under the Agrexco name and has instated Dudi Vaknine to run its business in the UK, according to a source. He replaces former general manager Ron Glowinsky, who only succeeded Oded Yacovsen in the summer.
