Delta-T has showcased its range of irrigation scheduling and fertigation control technology at this week's Fruit Focus.

The firm was particularly keen to demonstrate its Wet Kit, which provides a straightforward method for monitoring the water and nutrient status of soils and growing media. It is said to allow the effective and economic monitoring and control of these inputs without the need for expensive and time consuming laboratory analysis.

A complementary product, the PR2 Profile Probe, also allows moisture measurements to be taken at several points down a soil profile, while the SM200 Soil Moisture Sensor does the same thing from a single point. The results are either displayed instantly on a hand held meter or logged for later review.

Meanwhile the firm’s GP1 Control Logger can be used for the recorded measurements, including soil moisture, EC and temperature, to initiate other processes such as irrigation control, valve opening, pump activation or alarm state.

Also on show was Delta-T’s latest development, the new Compact Weather Station (WS-GP1). This is described as bringing ‘scientific quality to the measurement of key meteorological paramaters’. It can be networked to additional Delta-T loggers for monitoring other sensors, including soil moisture probes.
