Tesco is launching a new dried super berry claimed to fight aging and cancer, while boosting your sex drive.

It is the first time the Himalayan fruit, called the Goji berry, will be available in Britain, and according to the Sunday Mirror, it is a favourite with celebrities Kate Moss and Madonna, and is currently a craze sweeping America.

Dubbed “cellulite assassinators” the berries are packed with antioxidants have up to 500 times the amount of vitamin c found in an orange, weight for weight, the newspaper reported.

They will go on sale at £3.99 for 125g and £8.99 for 250g.

An expert told the Mirror: “Goji berries are one of the most nutritionally-dense foods on the market.”

Tesco wholefoods buyer David Cooke told the paper: “The Goji is so packed full of nutrients that it's in a completely different league to acclaimed superfoods such as blueberries, blackcurrants, oily fish and broccoli.

“As functional foods go it is possibly the most beneficial of them all and contains 500 times more vitamin C than oranges and five times more iron than steak." Research shows it also has more beta-carotene - which helps combat heart disease - than carrots, while its high levels of polysaccharides stimulate the immune system and fight infections.”
