Representatives of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), food chain stakeholders, European and Italian institutions, and from the Spanish presidency of the EU met in Parma, Italy, this week to look at how best to promote innovation along the entire supply chain.

Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, EFSA executive director, said: “Innovation can bring major benefits for both the consumer and the environment, and it is important to assess the risks and benefits of new technologies.”
