Sweetcorn and exotics specialist Barfoots has helped raise over £50,000 for agricultural charity Farm Africa.

The company hosted a fundraising evening at the Broadland estate in Romsey, auctioning lots including a Picasso print and a Tanzanian safari. Senior executives from Sainsburyʼs, ABP, NFU, Gʼs Fresh, Verde Horticulture, ASP, and Muddy Boots together with associates of the Barfoots group of companies were among the 260 guests.

The charity provides farmers in Africa with the tools and knowledge to improve yields and become more successful commercially.

“The Farm Africa event was a great success,” said Julian Marks, Barfoots’ managing director. “The hard work that went into the planning and delivery of the evening was certainly rewarded and as a business we would like to say thank you for the generosity of everyone who attended, supported or donated for the menu and auctions.”
