Florette hosts Chinese delegation

Bagged salad specialist Florette has welcomed government officials and agri-food executives from China as part of a tour hosted by Harper Adams University College.

The visit was included in a training course organised with the agriculture trade promotion council of China’s ministry of agriculture, and ties in with Harper Adams’ development of educational, research and training links in China.

Mark Newton, managing director of Florette UK, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to represent the fresh foods industry and that we have been able to share our agricultural heritage, food safety best practice and commercial successes, in turn showcasing the strength of the UK sector as well as the expertise in the West Midlands region.”

As well as visiting Florette’s prepared salads and vegetable operations, delegates took part in food safety training sessions at the college’s Shropshire campus and visited a major supermarket.
