A new floribunda, Red Finesse has won the Golden Rose of The Hague award in the Netherlands. Grown and marketed in the UK by Notcutts Nurseries through Mattocks Roses and Nocutts Garden Centres, the variety is characterised by large trusses of medium-sized red, double flowers and has a light scent and glossy, dark green foliage.

Suitable for container growing, mass planting or use in mixed borders, Red Finesse is highly resistant to disease. William Notcutt managing director of Notcutts Nurseries said: “Red Finesse is another significant introduction to our range of quality roses. It is an excellent example of the high-class modern varieties that have revived interest in rose growing, particularly among the younger generation.

“In the past some customers have dismissed roses because they believed specialist knowledge was required to grow them and that the species was suitable only for seasoned gardening enthusiasts or professionals. However, we are now finding a much wider audience appreciating the characteristics and benefits of good-quality modern varieties such as Red Finesse. It's ability to flower repeatedly and excellent disease resistance means that like many other modern roses it can be a stunning visual contribution throughout the summer, even in the smallest garden.”
