Foods from Spain art goes on tour

The winning artwork of the Foods from Spain National Primary Schools Competition 2011 is touring the West Midlands.

Children from the St Laurence CE Primary School in Jockeyfield, Ludlow beat hundreds of entries from around the country to receive first prize in the competition.

The winning school designed a collage on the theme of healthy eating, titled “Juicy, crunchy, munchy, sweet. It’s Spanish and it’s great to eat!”

The artwork has been turned into a streetliner advert and will be displayed on the sides of three buses in the Kidderminster area until 9 October.

Now in its fifth year, the Foods from Spain National Primary Schools Competition aims to promote healthy eating amongst primary school children.

María José Sevilla, director of Foods from Spain, said: “Educating children on the role that Spanish food plays in eating healthily and leading a healthy lifestyle is one of the key aims of the National Primary Schools competition and this year’s was a great success. The buses look fantastic and the winners should feel very proud of their achievement.”
